Displacement map testing

Experimenting in photoshop to make a quick displacement map from a photo led to this:

It's not the best map, but hey, it only took me a minute!

Basically, it's just making a gray-scale version of the photo, blurring it, changing the opacity to 30% and adding a 50%-gray layer beneath it.
